What to expect for Special Time…
Hi there! So, you might be wondering why you are coming to Special time. Well guess what? Is not because you did anything wrong or because something is wrong with you. Coming here is all about learning about yourself and learning about your feelings and emotions. We can help you through tricky thoughts and feelings.
Our sessions are safe, and unique just for you. We have a cosy room filled with lots of lovely things, plus we have sessions for all ages from 5 to 18! You are not alone and we are with you every step of the way.
It is normal to feel nervous, excited or worried about starting sessions, we all feel this way sometimes about starting something new! We are really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you to see if we can help with some difficult thoughts or feelings you might be experiencing. We love to support you with mental health and well-being.
The sessions we will be having are unique to you, because we are all different and each of us learns differently and likes different things. If you don’t feel you are enjoying the sessions you can talk to us, and we can come up with some new ideas together.
We are not going to make you do or say anything that you don’t feel comfortable to.
Your time at Special Time will be spent in the Play Cabin we call The Nest. This room is full of lovely things and is a very homely space. It is a safe space that was created by someone who understands how difficult it can be to come to something new; you will not be made to do anything that you don’t want to.
We are not a school; we are a neutral space for young people of all ages to feel supported and heard and to attend sessions each week that last around 40 minutes.
Each session is unique to you, and if you have a question you would like to ask before your session then please ask your parent or carer to get in touch with us, we will be happy to answer.
We see children from the ages of 3 years to 18 years so there is something for everyone. You come into sessions on your own, your grown up can stay just outside. If you would like to show them the room on the first session then you can do, likewise you may wish to keep the space just for you, that’s fine as well.
We are really looking forward to meeting you soon, and if you have any questions please let us know.
